Council slated to vote on next round of emergency rental assistance
The Atlanta City Council will consider legislation during Monday’s meeting to authorize the chief financial officer to amend the Fiscal Year 2022 CARES Act Fund budget by adding to anticipations and appropriations in the amount of approximately $12 million awarded to the City of Atlanta pursuant to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program 2 (Legislative Reference №21-O-0698).
The Council will also consider legislation to authorize entering into amendment two of an agreement with the United Way of Greater Atlanta Inc. for the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program Administration to extend the agreement through Jan. 31, 2022 and add funding totaling approximately $12 million (Legislative Reference №21-O-0700).
Other items on Monday’s agenda include:
• An ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2022 Tree Trust Fund Budget to authorize a special procurement agreement with Trees Atlanta in an amount not to exceed approximately $1.7 million for a term of four years with no renewal options for the planting and maintenance of trees, improvements to the urban forest, and community education (Legislative Reference №21-O-0676).
• A resolution authorizing the City of Atlanta to accept a donation of facility enhancements and site improvements to the Coan Park Recreation Center and the existing basketball courts valued at approximately $65,000 from the Atlanta Hawks Foundation (Legislative Reference №21-R-3865).
• An ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances to add Section 114–89 (LGBTQ Cultural Humility Training) to require all elected officials, part-time, full-time and contract employees to undergo LGBTQ training annually (Legislative Reference №21-O-0701).
• An ordinance authorizing an agreement with IKE Smart City LLC for pedestrian sidewalk digital kiosks for a term of eight years with two six-year renewal options (Legislative Reference №21-O-0628).
The Committee on Council will be held in committee of the whole during the full Council meeting Sept. 20.
